Allofmp3, you need to start communicating with your customers. I've thoroughly enjoyed buying music from you, but now that the Xrost service appears to be permanently down, I'm looking elsewhere. If I find another supplier before Allofmp3 gets Xrost sorted out, I might well not be back. Thanks for the great service, but if there's a problem, it would be better to tell us rather than just get everyone frustrated.

Award lists, although interesting, do not cover up the fact that the base is worried. A formal reply would be helpful. If the site is falling, please tell us. Many of us have been loyal customers for years...

i've been a customer for a short time, so i am disappointed i wasn't able to have more time to take advantage of what i feel is a great site. please do more to resolve this payment processing issue so new customers like myself can take full advantage of your service.

its getting to the point where is become quite frustrating. i've been a loyal user for a long time now. over a thousand bucks into my music downloads. however every turn these days is a dead end. you folks gotta let us know what going on. cuz this isnt something you want to be remembered as if you guys are finally going down. and just for teh record screw the riaa.(had to put that in)

People are more eager to wait if they know HOW LONG they have to wait. Just tell the people WHEN (roughly) the refill problem will be solved and everything's fine!

Agreed. There seem to be more and more problems every day. Payment facility is the biggest issue but previews intermittently not working, site unavailable, allofmp3 has become just unreliable. Unless these issues are openly addressed and worked on, I'm going to look at other music suppliers.
10. by

Please, please, please.... just let us know what is going on with the payment system!
Hi,

Thank you for your understanding and patience with this temporary disruption.

Spoke to someone at clickandbuy.com today. I added funds before realizing they had ended their contract with xrost.biz. Now, I've been added to the thousands asking for refunds. Doubt I'll ever get it back.
If there is a new option soon to add funds from clickandbuy, great. If not, it's been a great ride with you allofmp3. So many versions, so many songs not readily available.

Better customer service with more detailed updates will keep us happy with you. Saying "more information later" is going to run us off. Is there a problem with being honest about the payment situation? Hiding the answers will only make us your customers look elesewhere. I'm sure there are other low priced sites that will be happy to take the money we would have spent here. Its called customer service and communication.

16. by

Guys,
It was VISA that shut down the payment system. Not allofmp3.
17. by
Curly (UK), 15 February 2007, 20:53
I dont want to alarm anyone that maybe thinking of switching download sites but I have just seen on xxxMP3.Ru that they are temporarily unable to accept credit cards due to "technical repairs". This payment problem means theyve got us by the short and curlies.
18. by
steve, 15 February 2007, 20:56
You are quite right that it is VISA (and Mastercard) that have stopped the payment working and it is not the fault of allofmp3. But allofmp3 could do its customers a favour and explain what they are doing to open new payment channels and how long this will take.
19. by
GW, 15 February 2007, 22:16
A lot of the sites seem to be going down the pan now (particularly in the last two weeks). Pressure at Government level between the USA and Russia is effectively ending what were some great sites. The RIAA (US Industry) say that ROMS (Russian royalty collection agency) is not permitted to license copyrights of their artists. Whether that's true or not, there's obviously some sorting out to do and whatever the end result is (e.g. higher royalty payments back to the US), allofmp3 and others will be keen to comply. Will this mean that tracks from Russian sites are cheaper? Almost certainly. Global price-fixing is not considered to be a good thing - there will have to be competition and the clever people will pitch the pricing at the right level. It may be while before we see any changes here, but they will come.
I don't think that allofmp3 is really in a position to comment at the moment - they are caught in a political crossfire - so it's not worth moaning here. I suggest being patient - even though it's a damn shame as this was - for me - the best of all the sites.

I also dislike your customer communications policy. (If there is one of course!!!) Do we have to get information from other sources each time there's a problem with payments or downloads? Can't you be more open to your customers? I am a loyal customer of this site since 3 years and I know that there is a huge pressure on allofmp3 from different parties. But this doesn't mean that you should hide the truth from your customers when things get worse.
You should at least try to be more honest with us till the problems are solved.

I agree with the above comments and simply ask that allofmp3 give us a decent update. I never got a response to my initial questions when XROST first went down several days ago. Patience will go a lot further when one is not ignored.
Has anyone found a decent alternative yet?
