Isn't this exactly the stuff the constitution calls citizens to overthrow? Doesn't it even go as far as to say they have a responsibility and a duty to prevent this kind of conspiracy against the people? It is a conspiracy in the true sense of the word. Members within their government are now conspiring for remuneration against the best interests of the people. I'm not an American, but it seems to me that the entire country was founded against this kind of behaviour.

No, the constitution does not tell the citizen to do any of what you are saying. The constitution is the basis of the government, the way the government is supposed to be run, what branch has what responsibilities, etc. It is clear that you have never studied the constitution.
the history of the founding of the nation, on the other hand, makes it clear that the guys who started a revolutionary war with England would be starting a scuffle over this, too!

My thing is this... the old paradigm of music distribution - to limited markets by physical media via massive distribution coompanies and physical retailers - demanded a high margin because of high cost structures. The modern paradigm of digital music via IP to anywhere anytime reaches an enormous market and is inherently low cost. Therefore it supports a much lower margin. In my view the AllofMP3 model is the right one. Set a price determined by the quality you choose, sell tonnes of it, but pay a fair (low per unit) royalty to the rights owner. Old pricing regimes are a thing of the past.
