The expenses were concerned with opinion-forming activities related to copyright protection (including sponsoring members of Congress), but not legal and administrative costs related to the great number of lawsuits initiated by the Association. |

I live in Spain. We have to pay a "special tax" when purchasing new CDs. According to the SGAE (Spanish music copyright agency)this is to cover the losses they have because of illegal copies. When I found out about this tax, I stopped buying legal CDs in shops. Now I make my own copies from friends and downloads. I consider my copies are legal because I have paid the "special tax". The SGAE has taken an important step towards "legalizing" piracy in Spain. Congratulations SGAE!
