In 1981 I heard of the then comming new and unknown Compact Disk. I inmemiatly realised: this would be the end of the common records (78-33 and 45 rpm records) I sold my records collection and made a fair price. Now I got even more CD's thenn I use to had as records. I am still very pleased with the CD although I also think the mp3 and the i-pod will beat the CD in time.

I have a CD copy of "The Visitors", but it's a French one from a little later. I do have Jon and Vangelis's "The Friends of Mr. Cairo", also on Polydor, which appears to be an early pressing, making it the oldest manufactured CD in my vast collection. Sure, sites like this are changing the rules, but I still look for imports and rare finds. I remember when CDs were expensive, and players could only hold one at a time. One chemist in my area used to rent them out with the videos, but I think people stole them. The library still gets them, though. How far we've come!

I'm considering getting an iPhone, but I'm not planning to pay extra for a data plan. If I understand correctly, I should be able to connect to my home wireless router or other unsecured wireless wifi routers and get FULL internet access without paying for the data plan. I just wouldn't be able to get internet access from everywhere. Is this correct?
